8TH WEEK ENDING 28TH FEBRUARY 2009

One of the most important lessons I've learned is that life is a dance.
Sometimes you lead and sometimes you follow. When you lead, you do it gently, firmly and clearly, and when you follow, do you so with trust.
The amazing thing is that each one of us is involved in many dances at any one time - and we are the leader in some and the follower in others!
Some dances are slow and majestic and others are crazy and frenetic and still others are somewhere in between.
Some last a lifetime - others are over almost as soon as they begin.
Most of the time we manage not to fall flat on our faces, which is even more amazing and requires some pretty fancy footwork.
And sometimes we do trip up or our toes get squashed and we get hurt - but the important thing is to keep on dancing - no matter what.
Just keep dancing!
Even if you can't hear the music or you just don't don't feel like it or you have acquired two left feet, keep on dancing!


You learn the difference between wanting and needing and you begin to discard the doctrines and values you've outgrown, or should never have bought into to begin with and in the process, you learn to go with your instincts. That it is truly in giving that we receive and that there is power and glory in creating and contributing and you stop maneuvering through life merely as a "consumer" looking for your next fix. Through humor, you can soften some of the worst blows that life delivers. And once you find laughter, no matter how painful your situation might be, you can survive it.

6TH WEEK ENDING 14TH FEBRUARY 2009

The week has progressed well with no major incidents and we thank the lord for that. All the teachers, pupils and staffs were present.

There was a head teacher meeting at a neighbouring school to talk about the grade 8 pupils.

Kenya is back on a begging mission pleading with the international donor to assist them. Self-reliance was heavily replayed during the last election by the president but the situation here is worse than ever. The maize left cannot even feed over 10 million hungry people.

On Monday Kenya held a mass burial of 130 people who were burned and could not be identified in a fire tragedy of a tanker. But yesterday due to hunger and inflation that we are under, the same place a tanker with crude oil overturned and the villagers rushed to scramble fuel to sell so that they can be able to get food. We thank the police coz they were able to take control.

Here at Grace School the situation is worsening one of the major challenges we are experiencing is in the feeding programme. We have had to make many adjustments in order to meet the demand mainly due to the high food prices and insufficient funds. We only hope that things will work out fine coz things are really hard here.

We need more books for the student but coz of the financial situation we cannot be able to provide them with enough books.

7TH WEEK ENDING 21TH FEBRUARY 2009

The week progressed well with no incident taking place we thank the Lord for that.
In our every day life we are all influenced by many forms of media and communication. Often these can be focused on the negative things in life and there is no doubt that we all need some positive messages to provide us with some balance. In short, we all need to feel good about life, rather than the opposite.
As we all live in a world full of constant change, packed with never ending business and personal challenges, often there is little time available to refresh our spirit and boost the emotional bank account.
This change and challenge environment which surrounds us all tends to be highly charged with the lots of negatives, which can drain our capacity to really enjoy our life to the fullest.
When we take time to consider the wide variety of negative inputs and conditioning we receive in our every day business and personal life, is it any wonder that more than often we focus on 'what's wrong' rather than 'what's right' in or with our world.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

5TH WEEK ENDING 7TH FEBRUARY 2009

The week progressed well with the learning taking place as usually. I am a new staff and my name is Carol and I am a new staff taking over from Miriam and Martha, I hope I will be able to do the best I can.
The president has declared famine as a National disaster. Our prayer is that the conditions will improve and also our financial status.
End of January exams started and all the students were present.
