The Grace Journal is a place where Rev. Wambugu, and perhaps occasionally others of the Grace Ministries staff, will summarize the work of the day or week. We want you to feel that you are an active part of our work and our lives, and hope that this on-going journal of our activities our joys, our sorrows, and our day-to-day work will help to bring you more closely into our world.
God bless you for your interest and your support!

16th week ending 28th April 2007
This was a good week. The rains have continued to fall heavily but the children braved the harsh weather and made it school to school on time for their classes. The Remedial teaching that was in session went on well as planned and it now ends this week. We could indeed rate it as successful. We again break for a week and we will resume back on the 7th of May for the second term. This will be a time for relaxation and preparation for the children. Our prayers are with the children that at this time they will indeed be refreshed to start another term and we pray for the guardians that they will be in a position to pay school fees for their children. Please look out for our Newsletter for the first quarter January April giving information about the various events that have taken place, our progress, results and also our financial position among others. We have also received information that the East Tennessee Friends of Grace School(ETFOGS) meeting that took place in 24th April 2007 at UT hospital patrol care department was encouraging. This is an answer to prayer and hope that the power point presentation they have will accomplish great things. Finally we would like to thank all of you who have offered prayers and gifts to Grace School. It is through them that you have made it possible for Grace to run. May the Lord bless you abundantly.

15TH WEEK ENDING 21st April 2007
We now resume posting our journal after a break of almost two and a half weeks for the students and teachers who went for the Easter Holiday. We are all happy to be back in the school for the remedial teaching which ensures that we have thorough revision of the previous terms work including the examinations. This also ensures that once that new term starts we immediately start the terms syllabus. This was a good week with most of the pupils reporting back on Monday and some few on Tuesday and the classes commenced then. We also dont take it for granted that the all teachers reported back to duty ready to help the pupils. The rain is finally here and we had eagerly awaited it. It is good news for us here in Limuru as we will have plenty of fresh vegetables in our gardens as well as at a cheap price in the market. We really thank God for it. We also had the new teacher Mr. Karanja reporting and he was well received by the Grace School. He joins us at this time be able to have an orientation of how the school runs and also get acquitted to the students before the second term begins. He comes in to take TR Stellas place teaching Mathematics. As indicated earlier TR Stella leaves Grace School to go to the States. We continuously pray for her as we thank God that she has finally been able to process all her travel documents and she will hopefully be traveling next month. We do have very encouraging news about Grace School. As previously indicated, we did examination with 68 schools in limuru division which is equivalent to a County. Some of the Schools are very modern and we praise God that we were ranked 7 overall with our class 7 being number 2 in Mathematics. This was an extraordinary performance for a school which most people have never heard. What this means is that Grace School is establishing itself as a promising school that will be able to perform well in class 8 next year. It is only when people know what quality of education that we offer that we shall get children from financially able parents. As we commend the pupils we also Thank God for our teachers who have continuously worked hard to ensure that we can achieve such encouraging results. Finally, our prayers go to the East Tennessee Friends of Grace School (ETFOGS) who will be meeting on Wednesday to figure out how they can financially assist Grace School. May the lord open avenues that will provide the much needed funds. The week ended well with no major incidents and all the programmes going on well as planned. Have a blessed week.

We would like to apologize for the late posting of the weekly journal this was because we wanted to present it for a period of two weeks since our second week was only two days as we break for the Easter holiday and close the school. 12th week ending 31st march 2007 This was a good week. There were light showers in the mornings and hot afternoons. On Monday 26th march the district health officers visited the school for reinspection of the school as required by the ministry of education to allow the school to be registered. On Wednesday, all the classes started their end of term examinations which went on till Friday 30th march 2007. All pupils sat for their examinations and we are glad the lord granted them good health. On Thursday we had a visitor from quality Assurance Inspectorate Kiambu District who confirmed the re-inspection as done by the health counter part. His comments about the school were impressive and also advised the school accordingly. The week ended well with the students excited upon finishing their exams.
13th week ending 3rd march 2007 The school was in session for two days only. On Monday the teachers were busy finalizing their marking of examinations and recording. In the afternoon the school hoisted a party for one of the outgoing teachers, Teacher Stella who has been in the school for three years teaching science and Mathematics. She is leaving the school for the U.S upon winning the green card lottery. The pupils were sad because of her departure but they wished her well and they requested that she visits them one day. She has been a committed and hardworking teacher and we as the Grace School community wish her a successful life in the US and we pray that the lord will shower her with his blessings. We also pray that we will get a teacher to take her place and be as committed as well. On Tuesday the school closed we held a closing ceremony where we gave gifts to pupils who have done well in their examinations i.e. those who held 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. We also had special gifts for exemplary cleanliness and discipline throughout the term, the prefects were also awarded. The pupils also carried a thorough cleaning of their classes. The teachers held a staff meeting to analyze the whole term. It was a very successful term and the pupils performance was discussed and areas that need improvement were mentioned to be tackled next term. The meeting was very successful and we look forward to holiday coaching which is remedial teaching for the pupils who did poorly in the exams. It will start on 16th of April. May God bless all of you who have been praying for us throughout this term which was without a lot of major incidents to hinder smooth running of the school. We also want to thank our partners for the continued support you have offered may the Lord bless you as well. We will resume posting the journal after the school opens for the Remedial teaching.

Please know that your donation can help, not only to save the life of a child in Limuru, but to guide that life in such a way as to loosen the stranglehold of despair and death that threatens so much of Kenya's population. Thank you, in advance, for your compassionate support!
