Back to Current Journal

The Grace Journal is a place where Rev. Wambugu, and perhaps occasionally others of the Grace Ministries staff, will summarize the work of the day or week. We want you to feel that you are an active part of our work and our lives, and hope that this on-going journal of our activities – our joys, our sorrows, and our day-to-day work – will help to bring you more closely into our world.

God bless you for your interest and your support!

The School was out for an official three weeks break. We took a one week break and came back for remedial teaching from Monday 21st mostly to assist the examination class.

During the week that the children took a break, we worked very hard to have the Dinning Hall roofed; Steel windows and Doors installed and landscaping in front of the classrooms done. It was a hectic week.

Steel windows and Doors installed

There is a lot of work remaining to do; we need to do plumbing work for water, electrical installation, internal finishing and buying furniture and cooking appliances for the kitchen.

The remedial teaching went on very well. It begun at 8 is until 1 pm with a 30 minute break at 11 for a snack.

It was however very difficult for the children to reach the School in the morning. There is a very small stretch of the road that passes through the School that it is an absolute nightmare for the children to pass through.

The Lord be with you and have a blessed weekend.

Rev. Samuel Wambugu.

13th Week ending 12th April 2008 and the end of the term.

This was a good week. We are glad we have come to yet another close of the term.
This was also the last week of the term.

The children finished their final exam on Monday. The teachers were busy compiling the childrens marks and filing in their in the report books. On closing day was on Thursday the children came early cleaned their classes as we arranged for the closing ceremony. At noon we held our closing assembly. At the function we had the best performing children being rewarded and with presents. This is usually done to encourage other children to be in always be in competition so as to aim for the top position. We later closed the school at noon and the children were excited to have the break. Our next school dates will be on 21st April when we will resume with the older day for remedial teaching. However the office will remain open as we will be busy compiling our terms newsletter as well as prepare our books. The construction is going on and we are glad that when we come back most of the work on the roof will be done. The teachers held a staff meeting to analyze the terms events. We also got a chance to analyze the examination citing areas that were not well performed. We will work n areas of concern when we come in for remedial teaching.

We thank the lord for a successful term. It was a term full of very many events both good and bad but amidst all we have not failed to see the lord working in all situations. This was the term where Rev Samuel was in the US where he renewed his friendships. From his trip a lot has happened in terms of support and more with availability funds to finish the dining hall roof. We pray that the lord will continue to meet us at our very point of need. We thank all our friends and partners who have supported us this term with gifts and prayers. May the lord bless you. We are compiling the terms newsletter and it will be ready at the end of this month please look out for it as it will cover our term more elaborately.

We will resume sending our Journal once we resume back.

God bless

12th Week ending 5th April 2008.

This was a good and busy week.
We had a lot to do as the term draws to a close.
The week started well and all the children were present as well as the teachers.
The teachers were busy preparing the children for the end of term exam. On Tuesday Reverend Samuel started organizing for the delivery of construction materials for the dining hall roofing.
Reverend Samuel has been quite busy ever since he came back from the states attending to issues that needed his attention. On Sunday he lost his sister who has been ill while he was away. He is also busy attending to his family issues as well as giving input to the dining hall roofing which started on Wednesday. We thank him for his tireless effort to attend to the school issues besides his pressing needs.
On Thursday the children started their end of term examinations and they sat for three papers on the first day. On Friday they sat for other three papers. They will finish the exam on Monday. We will close school next week and break for a period of three weeks. We will however resume after one week with the older children classes four to eight who will come for remedial teaching.
When we break for the holiday we will have the roofing going on with no interruption on the schools Programme.
The teachers will also be busy marking and compiling the childrens marks. They will then fill in their report books which the children will take home when they close.
The office is busy preparing the account as we prepare to close our terms books.
The children cleaned their classes and the week ended well.

God bless.
