Back to Current Journal

The Grace Journal is a place where Rev. Wambugu, and perhaps occasionally others of the Grace Ministries staff, will summarize the work of the day or week. We want you to feel that you are an active part of our work and our lives, and hope that this on-going journal of our activities – our joys, our sorrows, and our day-to-day work – will help to bring you more closely into our world.

God bless you for your interest and your support!

3rd week ending 26th March 2007

This was a good week and the weather has been quite warm compared to the previous weeks.
All school programmes went as planned and the children attended school well.
We had a new pupil joined the school through the special programme and we had teacher Patrick bringing her in. Her name is Michelle and she lives with an Uncle and her mother is very needy. We hope she will fit into the school after coming from a public school where there was minimal attention given to the children.
Learning has so far been going on well and the children will soon sit for their continuous Assessment Tests at the end of the month.
We thank the lord for the good week.
Be blessed!

2nd Week Ending 19th May 2007

The week has been a good one.
The rains have continued to fall. All School programmes went on uninterrupted.
We had new pupils joining the school through a special arrangement where some teachers requested the administration to consider enrolling some orphans from their home areas. These pupils are all in class seven and extremely needy. We will post more information about them in our website.
Francis Gitee is an orphan and he stays with the grandmother. Teacher Jennifer has offered to help him with some uniform and some text books.
Hannah Wanjiku is also an orphan and stays with her Aunt who is unemployed and has her own children to take care of. Teacher Esther who is a neighbor has offered to help her with Uniform.
The third child is Beatrice Njeri who is also an orphan and lives with her grandparents who are both sick and unemployed. Teacher Julius who is also a neighbor will also chip in to help with school uniform.
The Office appreciates the teachers effort to support these extremely needy children with their little pay. May the lord bless them.
The office also hopes to help them with some additional uniform and books once funds are available.
The week ended with no major incidents and we thank the lord for the smooth running so far.
Be blessed!

1st Week ending 12th May 2007

This was the first week of the second term.
The school opened on 7th May 2007 which was on Monday and the children reported to school in good time for the commencement of their classes. We thank God that the children came back healthy and fit to continue with their studies.
The teachers also resumed duty and we had Teacher Jennifer who had been on maternity leave resuming back.
Teaching throughout the week went on well as planned and the teachers held a brief staff meeting to discuss last term performance and lay down strategies for the term among other school related agendas.
The office was busy putting things in order and also purchasing teaching consumables, food and stationery in readiness for the term which will take 13 weeks.
We look forward to a good term and we pray that the lord will continue to provide for us in his own special ways.
We thank you all for your prayers and in particular members of the Sunday school class of Central Baptist Bearden who have continued with individual children support.
About our former Teacher Stella who left for the US last week we are glad that she got there safe and she is now settling down. We thank God for the journey mercies.
The week ended well.
Be blessed!
