Back to Current Journal

The Grace Journal is a place where Rev. Wambugu, and perhaps occasionally others of the Grace Ministries staff, will summarize the work of the day or week. We want you to feel that you are an active part of our work and our lives, and hope that this on-going journal of our activities – our joys, our sorrows, and our day-to-day work – will help to bring you more closely into our world.

God bless you for your interest and your support!

8th WEEK ENDING 27TH JUNE 2009

The was successive and we would to thank the Lord making it happen.
I can't even begin to tell you how much God has blessed my life over the years. The only thing I can say for certain is that my life would not be the same if I did not have Him in it. He has helped me through so many trials and tribulations over the years and has touched my life in many different and wondrous ways.
Although the Director has many problems that are far greater than mine, he has still been able to confront a very difficult life with a remarkable and courageous determination within himself. It is because of him that I've been able to stop and realize just how small my worries are in comparison to others and how I should try that much harder to be happy, understanding, tolerant, and caring toward others. He has also been an inspiration for me to never to take anything in life for granted, and to be more appreciative for all that I have every day of my life.
I am so pleased that you decided to come here for a visit. I sure hope you'll enjoy your stay.

Of Special Interest: The Scouting Program at Grace

The Scouts movement was launched in 2008. The group has 18 members but only 5 who have Scout's full uniforms. They participate in the following activities when we have funds.
· HIV / Aids awareness
· First aids training during games.
· Environmental conservation.
· Hiking
· Participating in charity walks.

The Scouts were preparing themselves to raise the flag by marching.

The Scouts salute to say the Loyalty Pledge after they had raised the flag.

The Scouts take a photo with the teacher who leads them.

The quote of the week
The one thing that matters is the effort. It continues, whereas the end to be attained is but an illusion of the climber, as he fares on and on from crest to crest; and once the goal is reached it has no meaning

7th WEEK ENDING 20TH JUNE 2009

Today I would like to give my regards to everyone out there who for one time has being part and person of this community. The week progressed very well even though it was for only four days. This is the longest semester and we usually give our children and the staff a break which is known as midterm. We are breaking today and we will resume on Monday to continue with our every day business.

We would like to thank some of our friends who in one time had our cry of appeal and they gave us something. We were able to get some money to be able to construct a stove and buy some more utensils. We really appreciated what they did.
There is much pleasure to be found in the power of kindness. It is one of the most difficult things to give away because it is almost always returned to us. When we bring sunshine into the lives of others, we're warmed by it ourselves. When we spill a little happiness, it splashes on us. It makes us feel good inside because showing kindness to others is what will bring enjoyment and happiness back to us.
I would also like to thank one of Grace Journal visitor who visited our site and sent us an e-mail saying he liked the site. Thanks for encouraging us.
The quote of the week
Patience and perseverance have a magical effect
before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish

6th WEEK ENDING 13TH JUNE 2009

The week has progressed well with no major incidents and we thank the lord for that. All the teachers, pupils and staffs were present.
Having joy or misery all depends on how we look at or think about it. It is in how we choose to look at the circumstances. We can look for the flowers or just see the weeds. We can see the bright side or look for the clouds. How we look at life can either bring a sparkle of joy or a handful of gloom. We can be as happy as we decide to be.
There are so many that don't realize that the value of our lives is best measured not by the worldly possessions we've acquired, but rather by the wisdom we share, the hope we inspire, the tears we wipe, and the hearts we touch. The happiness and lasting contentment we get in our lives are not to be found in what "we have," but rather in what "we are." Everything we do affects not only our own life, but it touches others, too.
The quote of the week
Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will find them gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.

God Bless

5th WEEK ENDING 6TH JUNE 2009

The week has progressed well with no major incidents and we thank the lord for that. All the teachers, pupils and staffs were present.

The week was rainy and sunny some of the days. The most difficult thing that we are experiencing is that we need to furnish our Dinning Hall so that the student can be able to enjoy their meal well.
We usually use the DH rarely when it is sunny we eat outside but when it rains we use the Classrooms because the DH has no furnitures. We are appealing for any well wisher to help us complete our DH.

You learn the difference between wanting and needing and you begin to discard the doctrines and values you've outgrown, or should never have bought into to begin with and in the process, you learn to go with your instincts. That it is truly in giving that we receive and that there is power and glory in creating and contributing and you stop maneuvering through life merely as a "consumer" looking for your next fix. Through humor, you can soften some of the worst blows that life delivers. And once you find laughter, no matter how painful your situation might be, you can survive it.

The quote of the week
Never let yesterday's disappointments overshadow tomorrow's dreams.
God Bless
