Back to Current Journal

The Grace Journal is a place where Rev. Wambugu, and perhaps occasionally others of the Grace Ministries staff, will summarize the work of the day or week. We want you to feel that you are an active part of our work and our lives, and hope that this on-going journal of our activities – our joys, our sorrows, and our day-to-day work – will help to bring you more closely into our world.

God bless you for your interest and your support!

12th Week Ending 28th July 2007.

This was a good week and with a lot of events.
The weather however changed drastically and we had very warm days and this has helped our almost frozen bodies.
This was also the exam week and the children began their examinations on Wednesday and it lasted till Friday. Everything was in place for the exams and they ran smoothly. The teachers are now busy marking the examinations and compiling the marks in readiness for the schools closing which is scheduled for next week. We hope to close the school on Wednesday 1st August 2007.
This week was also a tragic week for Reverend Samuels family as their house was attacked by robbers on the night of 24/25. They lost quite some property and money but we were glad that the robbers did not harm any of the family members. It was also traumatic for Monica who is still recovering from her surgery. We pray that the lord will give them peace as they have hardly stayed in their new house. We know only the lord can be their guard to watch and comfort them.
We will soon be compiling our second newsletter this year summarizing the second term activities. We will let you know once it is ready in the website.
Thank your for continued support and prayers for Grace School may the lord bless you all.
Be blessed!

11th week ending 21st July 2007

This was a good week.
The weather was quite cold.
The teachers were busy helping the children with their revision in readiness for the end of term examination that is scheduled for next week starting on 25th July 2007.
The office also summoned one of the teachers whose class has been noted with some concerns of discipline and unfinished work. The teacher promised to deliver and we are still monitoring her.
On Thursday the Administrative staff held a brief meeting to discuss the schools financial position. We also looked at what is needed before the school closes in terms of purchases.
The office also went to purchase the examination papers on Friday in readiness for the examinations.
One of our teachers Catherine is preparing for a wedding in August and the office is thinking of a way to send her off in the best way possible as she will not be with us next term. We have however requested her to suggest how she will need the School to assist in her Wedding preparation. Usually the teachers plus the Office do have special contributions for any such special occasion.
We request for prayers at this time when the children prepare to sit for examinations. We pray that the good Lord will grant them good health through out the examination period.
The week ended well.

Be blessed!

10thweek Ending 14th July 2007

This was a good week

The weather has continued to be quite chilly.

This was the last teaching week and the teachers were busy finishing up their classes syllabus. From next week the teachers will help the children with revision as they prepare to sit for their end of term examinations.

The accounts office was also busy putting the accounts books in order as we prepare to close the terms accounts.

As earlier reported the teachers visited Monica on Friday last week

Jane (in red), Monica and Samuel.

We had a good time of fellowship and prayer with her family. Monica is now back on her feet and we thank God for her fast recovery and we continue to pray for her.

There were no other major incidents and the week ended well.

Be blessed!

9th Week ending 7th July 2007

This was a good week.
The weather continued to be quite chilly.
Learning went on well and undisrupted.
Teacher Jacqueline who has been away for quite sometime on bed rest came back on Monday. We thank God for her full recovery.
We are now approaching the end of the term and the teachers were busy trying to finish the terms syllabus.
We had the National Social Security Fund officials coming to the school to issue the staff with Membership Cards. Our staff has been contributing to this fund as it is a statutory requirement in our country. The employer (Grace School) also contributes a certain percentage to the said fund for his employees.
We had a parent being summoned to the school because his child had marked the teachers assignment contrary to what is done. The parent had earlier on accused the teachers of marking his childs assignment wrongly. The matter was discussed at length and we reached to a conclusion that the parent would assist the teachers in disciplining his child to avoid a repetition of the same.
The teachers will today go and visit Monica to show our solidarity as the Grace Community. We will join hands in prayer as we thank the Lord for her progressively good recovery and also thank him for the provision of funds for her treatment.
The week ended well with no other incidents.
Be Blessed!
