The Grace Journal is a place where Rev. Wambugu, and perhaps occasionally others of the Grace Ministries staff, will summarize the work of the day or week. We want you to feel that you are an active part of our work and our lives, and hope that this on-going journal of our activities our joys, our sorrows, and our day-to-day work will help to bring you more closely into our world.
God bless you for your interest and your support!

Dear our esteemed readers of Grace Journal, Grace School is out on brake until 4th September. There are few activities at School during this period. There will be a few children who are academically weak who will continue to come for remedial teaching.
Grace journal will temporarily stop for a period of three weeks. Please be in prayer with us during this period for: 1.Provision for computer/s for Grace School 2.Funds to roof the three classes. We have no classes for Jan 2007. 3.Funds for teachers support. As some teachers proceeds for maternity leave, we have engaged others to ensure continuity of learning.
I (Samuel) will use the break for Pastoral visitation especially to family members of our children and Church members living with HIV/AIDS. Theere is also construction of the Church Sanctuary. It is a shame that this particular church has remained at the foundation without a slub for 9 years. I will be encouraging the few finacially able members to give the building of Lords house a priority.
I will be sharing more in the Grace Newsletter which will be available later in the month.
The Lord be with you and bless you.
Samuel.

WEEK ENDING 5TH AUGUST 2006:
The children continued doing their end of the term examinations. They finished the examinations on Tuesday and went for break from Wednesday. The School calendar is as follows: Term one: January-March Term two: May-July Term Three: September November. There are three months for learning followed by month break. Grace School does not follow this calendar to the letter. We only break for two weeks and use the other two for remedial work with the academically weak children. The children will break for one week and resume on August 15th for two weeks. They will then break on 25th and resume for term three on September 4th. We utilize the breaks by doing the construction when we have funds. We currently need to put the roof on the top classes but we do not have funds to do so.
On Friday August 4th Teachers had a meeting/ Farewell party for James who will be joining St. Paul Theological Seminary from August 28th. It was also a moment of welcoming Pauline a new teacher who will fill in for Eunice who will be proceeding for maternity leave from September. This means that we shall have two new staffs from September. A major concern teachers support bill. We are still seeking Gods wisdom in deciding what we do with our dear teachers who proceed on maternity leave and they are the only breadwinners in their homes. They need our sympathy and support as they go through anticipated economically and emotional hard times. Grace has strong family bonds among teachers and children. We always desire to follow our Lords principle of taking the log in our own eyes. We have a divine duty to stand with our owns during difficult times.
Our week prayer needs are:
-Provision of good medical care to Eunice -Provision for Pastor James -A computer (s) for Grace School. -Funds to roof the classrooms.
Thank and God bless you.
Samuel.

Please know that your donation can help, not only to save the life of a child in Limuru, but to guide that life in such a way as to loosen the stranglehold of despair and death that threatens so much of Kenya's population. Thank you, in advance, for your compassionate support!
