Back to Current Journal

The Grace Journal is a place where Rev. Wambugu, and perhaps occasionally others of the Grace Ministries staff, will summarize the work of the day or week. We want you to feel that you are an active part of our work and our lives, and hope that this on-going journal of our activities – our joys, our sorrows, and our day-to-day work – will help to bring you more closely into our world.

God bless you for your interest and your support!

14TH WEEK ENDING 9TH AUGAST 2008

The week was brief from Monday to Wednesday. On Monday the children came to school to receive the results of the papers they did last week. Teachers take this day as a day of revision and grading the test papers. It is the noisiest of all days and full of excitement.
On Tuesday the children came o receive their report forms. The children who held high position, best improved, cleanest in the time were rewarded. The children went home after taking the mid morning tea and bread.
On Wednesday the teachers had their own meeting. This involved all the teaching staff, Administrative staff and the Directors. This is a time that the performance is analyzed critically and short comings pointed out and solutions searched and implemented.
The School is currently on break until the 1st of September as the official date. However the upper classes are coming back on 18th. The Teachers are determined to see their 1st examination class perform well and children admitted to good High Schools.
Grace Journal will also be taking a three week break until the School re-opens.

The Lord be with you until we talk again after 1st September

Samuel.

13TH WEEK ENDING 2ND AUGUST 2008

The week has been good with all the people team working without coercion. The weather has been very chilly with the children braving the cold to make it to school. It was a busy week for both teachers and the students as the end of term examinations were conducted. The examinations ended well. The children will be going for the August vacation next week.

Josephine Gitiri
The hospital finally released official medical reports on Josephines eye and ear. She will need a hearing aid and a pair of spectacles. We continue to pray for her and also hope funds will be available to provide for her these items.

Teacher Patrick resumed duty after being away to attend his wife who was involved in a road accident. She is still recuperating at the hospital.

I was able to visit Limuru girls hostel and spoke with the director on possibilities of collaborating with Grace School on some issues. I hope something positive will come up.

God bless.

Please know that your donation can help, not only to save the life of a child in Limuru, but to guide that life in such a way as to loosen the stranglehold of despair and death that threatens so much of Kenya's population. Thank you, in advance, for your compassionate support!
