Back to Current Journal

The Grace Journal is a place where Rev. Wambugu, and perhaps occasionally others of the Grace Ministries staff, will summarize the work of the day or week. We want you to feel that you are an active part of our work and our lives, and hope that this on-going journal of our activities – our joys, our sorrows, and our day-to-day work – will help to bring you more closely into our world.

God bless you for your interest and your support!

4th Week Ending 29th September 2007

This is was good week!
The weather has continued to be quite warm.
This was also the pay week and the office was busy looking for funds to pay the staff which it finally did on Thursday. We thank God and we dont take it for granted that we got the pay.
This week we also had the District Education Officer coming to do a routine check as is required by the Ministry of Education. He was impressed by the work that is already going on at Grace School.
The end of month continuous Assessment Tests started on Thursday and continued through to Friday. We will analyze the results next week. We continuously test the pupils to make sure they are not only reading for exams towards the end of the term when they have their main exam.
We will soon have one of the main school events where we will have the children visiting Animal Parks and historical sites. This will be in mid next month. We are busy planning for it and the children are very anxious about it. We are praying hard for availability of funds from friends and partners as the trip is mainly funded by the school. Usually we request the parents to contribute to this event though most of the children cannot afford to pay. We take all children for the trip regardless of whether they contribute or not.
The week ended well with no other incidents

Be blessed!

3rd week ending 22nd September 2007.

This was a good week!
The rains have now subsided.
Teaching went on smoothly and all class related activities were carried out successfully.
We had one of the children Brenda Njeri class five falling sick and she is admitted in the hospital. The head teacher and the class teacher and her four classmates went to visit her at the hospital. She was recovering and by the time they left hospital she was waiting to be discharged. Her brother Dickson in class three also has a condition that needs operation today. We pray for their family at this trying time.
As earlier reported we successfully posted our second newsletter this year and we have continued to receive feedback most of which is very encouraging. We again thank all of you who make it possible for us to run Grace School both partners and friends.
There were no other incidents and the week ended well.

2nd Week ending 18th September 2007

This was a good week!
The rains continued to fall heavily this week. However this did not deter the children from coming to school though the roads were impassible. The week ran smoothly and all the activities scheduled were all successful.
The teachers met on last Friday last for a baby shower at Mr. & Mrs. Mbatia as they were recently blessed with a bouncing baby boy. We made merry as is usually the routine when we go to share both happy and sad moments for any member of staff. The Mbatias were members of staff but they have gone back to school for further studies.
We had a new student joining the school in class five.
We successfully completed compiling the journal and we posted it to friends and partners. It will soon be available in our website.
We continue to praise and thank the lord for his sustenance and provisions we dont take it for granted.
The week ended well with no other incidents.

Be blessed!

1st Week ending 8th September 2007

We are back for the last term of the year.
This was a good week!
The weather was quite warm. We resumed back on Monday 3rd September 2007. Most of the children reported on the first day and the rest continued to report back on the next two days. The are all back in good health and we thank God for taking care of them and enabling them to come back in strong. The teachers also reported back apart from Teacher Esther who earlier on resigned as she got another job. We wish her well in her new place of work.
The office was also busy putting everything in order purchasing food and stationery for the new term. We thank the lord for the availability of funds.
On Tuesday we conducted an interview to hire a teacher to take up Teachers Esthers place. Teacher Teresiah Wairimu Maina was the successful candidate and she will take up class Two which teacher Esther was taking. She is a young and energetic lady and very jovial we hope that she will soon fit into our Grace community.
The teachers held a brief staff meeting to lay down the terms strategies as well as set the term dates. This term will run for thirteen weeks and we will have our school trip as usual during Mid October. The term is projected to run until the end of November.
Having everything all set to start the term, we hope to have a smooth term in terms of running of the Programme as well as financial breakthrough. Please join in Prayer as we ask the lord to continue showering is with his blessings as he has always done.
The week ended well and with no other incidents.

Be blessed!
