Back to Current Journal

The Grace Journal is a place where Rev. Wambugu, and perhaps occasionally others of the Grace Ministries staff, will summarize the work of the day or week. We want you to feel that you are an active part of our work and our lives, and hope that this on-going journal of our activities – our joys, our sorrows, and our day-to-day work – will help to bring you more closely into our world.

God bless you for your interest and your support!

13th Week Ending the closing of the school.

This was a short week with just three days. It was also one of the busiest weeks.
The children were closing school during this time and we had to prepare their term report. We also held a very colorful Christmas party on Tuesday and we invited some few guests. We ate, drank sodas and danced. The children enjoyed the party very much.
On Wednesday the children came early to clean their classes and then we held a closing ceremony where we acknowledged good performance by giving gifts to the children who had exemplary performance in each class. The neatest pupils were also rewarded as well as the class captains. The children were given snacks and they went home to start their break. The teachers had lunch together with the school directors and they got to interact and the director Rev Samuel thanked d them all including the support staff for a job well done especially during the Christmas party. The staff will hold a meeting on Friday 30th to discuss the term as well as the whole year in general including the way forward.
This term has been full of the lords blessings since the first day we opened and we have since seen him guide us and provide for us. We cant fail to acknowledge that though we have experienced a lot of financial difficulties we did not go lack. Teachers received their pay in good time even during times when Reverend Samuel had to use Overdrafts from the bank to get our pay. When we had already planned for the trip we almost gave up due to unavailability of funds but again the lord used members of Central Baptist Church Bearden through Steve Sexton to meet the cost of the trip and the party. We cannot thank them well enough for what they did for the children.
Reverend Samuel and Monica have also been in and out of hospital struggling with their health problems but again Gods Grace has been sufficient for them and they are still strong. The teachers have been on their toes ensuring that the children perform to their very best and we continuously pray for them and ask the lord to bless them mightily.
This is the last journal entry this term and this year we thank you for reading our entries and even praying for Grace School. Your prayers and gifts have kept us going and we thank you and we ask that the lord will bless you abundantly. We also take this opportunity to wish you all
A Merry Merry Christmas and a blessed new year.

Goodbye for now and God bless

12th week ending 24th November 2007.

This was a good week!
The weather has continued to be quite warm in the last few days.
We had a successful week and the children were quite busy throughout the week. They had their final examinations which mark the end of the year and a definite change of class. The examinations started on 21st and ended on Friday 23rd November.
The teachers are now busy compiling the results which will be given to the children as they break for Christmas on Wednesday 28th November 2007.
We are also busy preparing for the Christmas party which will be held on Tuesday 27th. The children are excited about it and they are looking forward to it. We will make merry by sharing meals, a coke, snacks and we will have a lot of dancing and singing.
A report about the Christmas party will be sent next week as well as how the closing will go. We are also compiling a detailed newsletter containing the terms activities and financial position and it will be out towards the end of the year.
All other planned school related activities took place successfully.
The week ended well with no other incidents.

God bless!

10th Week ending 10th November 2007

This was a good week.
The weather was quite warm with the sun getting hotter in the afternoon.
The children just finished their continuous assessment tests on Friday last week and they are now back on their class work.
The teachers are busy marking the exam papers and compiling the marks.
The end of term exams are just a week away and the teachers are busy finishing their class syllabus so as to prepare the children for revision from the coming week.
The end of term exams will be held from 21st to 23rd November 2007.
The school plans to break from 28th November 2007.
We are also busy planning for a school Christmas party for the children on 27th November 2007 a day before they close school.
Towards the end of every year we experience financial constraints and this year has not been an exception. We are praying and trusting God for an intervention as this year the finances are highly needed to pay teachers salary among other school running expenses.
There were no other incidents and the week ended well.
God bless!

9th Week ending 3rd November 2007.

This was a good week!
The rains have continued to fall.
This was also the pay week and we got our pay amid a lot of struggles as our finances have really dilapidated.
The children had their second continuous assessment tests on Thursday and Friday this is the final C.A.T as they await their main final end of term exam.
All the school related activities took place as planned.
We are now approaching the end of year and we continue to praise and thank the lord for his daily provisions. We are hopeful that our Christmas appeal for the children sent out to our friends and partners will continue to receive positive feedback.
