The Grace Journal is a place where Rev. Wambugu, and perhaps occasionally others of the Grace Ministries staff, will summarize the work of the day or week. We want you to feel that you are an active part of our work and our lives, and hope that this on-going journal of our activities our joys, our sorrows, and our day-to-day work will help to bring you more closely into our world.
God bless you for your interest and your support!

12TH WEEK ENDING ON 22ND NOVEMBER 2008
The week was a very busy one with the rest of the school doing their end of year examinations; grade eight having completed their national examination the previous week. Also having celebrated an early Christmas all the children and the staff likewise have been looking forward to the December holidays which are characterized with lots of festivities. The school will be closing for the Christmas holidays on the 20th of November with the anticipation of re opening on 5th of January 2009.
We will therefore be suspending our journals for this period and will resume on the 10th of January 2009.
We the Grace School community are very grateful first to God for giving us a successful year and giving us the favour and strength to go through all that we encountered. We have had both good and sad times but by grace we have emerged strong. It was one of the toughest years as we lost three parents and one of us a nursery school student who succumbed to HIV/AIDS pandemic. It was joy on the other hand as we celebrated our pioneer class eight who were able to sit for the national examination for the first time in the history of Grace School. Indeed it has been fun to see healthy children whose lives have been affected for the better by being in the school.
Thanks a lot to our sponsors and all friends of Grace School for the many sacrifices you have undergone in order to make a difference in a needy childs life. Surely your labour in the Lord is not in vain and God will richly bless the work of your hands. We take this early opportunity to wish you all a merry Christmas and a prosperous and successful year 2009.
Merry Christmas & happy New Year!
Administrator,
Martha.

(Limuru time) 11TH WEEK ENDING ON 15TH NOVEMBER 2008 This is the week we had all anticipated for as it was the time the grade eight sat for the national examination. On Monday the 10th they had the rehearsals and on Tuesday to Thursday did the actual examination. They were confident that they did well and we look forward to good results. On Friday the 14th we held the long awaited school party. It doubled as early Christmas as well as farewell to the pioneer class. Both students and teachers and the invited guests enjoyed to their best. There was music and dance to accompany the different mouth watering dishes on the menu.

There were also speeches from different people which were mostly directed to the outgoing students giving them advice on how to conduct themselves once they left Grace School.

The rest of the school will be sitting for their end of year examinations in this week and we hope to break for December holidays at the end of the week. We thank God for having brought us this far and also the dear friends of Grace School whose help has made a difference. Grace and Peace to all, Martha Administrator

The pioneer class eight was doing the final preparations before sitting for their national examinations on 11th, Tuesday next week. All the efforts and focus is on them as we look forward to their making of history for Grace School. On Friday afternoon the whole school held prayers for the candidates

We also received sad news that one of class six pupil Michael Mungai had lost his mother who passed on the morning of 7th October. We continue praying for him for God?s grace since he was an only child. The school will be off for the better part of next week as it is the Government's requirement for the grade eight to be alone in the school when sitting for the national examination. We will resume on Friday the 14th which is scheduled for the annual school party which will also serve as a farewell to the grade eight. We thank God for the far that He has brought us. Grace and Peace Martha Administrator
| Author: Samuel Wambugu Sunday, November 02, 2008 at 5:27 P.M. (Limuru time) 9TH WEEK ENDING ON 1ST NOVEMBER 2008 We have had two good weeks with lots of activities. Last week we were not able to post the journal since the children were having their annual trips on the 23rd and 24th. We therefore skipped posting the journal so that we could include the outcome of the trips in todays journal. The younger children comprising of nursery up to grade three went on their trip on 23rd October. They visited various places in the capital city Nairobi. Some of the places they visited include giraffe center, animal orphanage, mamba [crocodile] village and the national museum. Apart from having lots of fun they were able to learn many things like the behavior of different animals and also various historic facts.
The upper primary children were able to visit the Thompson falls in Nyahururu about 174 km from Limuru. They then proceeded to Lake Nakuru national park where apart from watching the different animals they enjoyed the spectacular view of flamingoes at Lake Nakuru. This differed from the earlier plans of visiting the Aberdare National park as the roads were impassable due to the heavy rains. This was made possible through the generous support some individuals who paid for the cost of the trip. We still have more end year events like Christmas party and this will be particularly of great significance because it is the time of wishing farewell to our grade eight which will now be leaving Grace School and join high school next year. Another occasion is using the Christmas period to reach the families of the poor children in Grace School with the love of God. We would like to thank the churches who have expressed their desire to be involved in this event. God bless you.
Both trips were a success and all the children enjoyed fully. This week has seen the children sit for their end of month assessment test and we thank God for His unending grace in all our activities. We continue to pray for our grade eight students who will be sitting for their national examination in a weeks time. Grace and Peace Martha Administrator
